    Artwork of older adults to be showcased at exhibit in Walnut Creek on Saturday

    The public is invited to enjoy dozens of pieces of artwork at the Creativity is Timeless exhibit at Walnut Hills Retirement Community 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday.

    The exhibit will be held at the Troyer House on the Walnut Hills campus. Admission is free.

    All the exhibit’s artwork was completed by amateur artists who are ages 55 and over and who reside inHolmes County and the surrounding area.

    Over the 13 years the Creativity is Timeless show has been hosted at Walnut Hills, there have been more than 900 unique pieces of artwork displayed by more than 160 area artists.

    “We are very excited to see more outstanding pieces of artwork this year,” said Paula Miller, community relations director. “The exhibit is such a great way to showcase the gifts and talents of older adults and celebrate their creativity and imagination.”

    Visitors will enjoy artwork from a variety of categories, including paintings and drawings; photography; quilting, cross-stitch and other soft crafts; woodworking, ceramics and other hard crafts; and miscellaneous arts and crafts items.

    Visitors can vote for their favorite piece of artwork, which will help determine the recipient of the People’s Choice Award.
