    Crime Roundup: Copper stolen from Bethel air conditioning units

    An estimated $18,000 in copper was stolen from air conditioning units in Bethel over the weekend, law enforcement documents show.

    Incident reports from the Pitt County Sheriff’s Office said the thefts were reported at 8:47 a.m. Saturday from three residences in the 100 block of West Railroad Street. It is believed the larcenies occurred between Thursday afternoon and the time of the report.

    A spokesman for the sheriff’s office said that only parts were stolen from the units, to acquire copper. Incident reports valued the copper stolen at $6,000 for each unit.

    The cases remain under investigation.

Household goods valued at $100 stolen; case active.3861 James St., Bethel, 2 p.m. July 11- 10:56 a.m. July 12: air conditioning unit valued at $6,000 stolen from Dennis Properties; case active.5900 block Acorn Road, 9 a.m. July 12: copper pipe valued at $100 stolen from residence; case active.2100 block Leon Drive, 3 p.m. July 14- 10:30 a.m. July 13: jewelry valued at $4,450 stolen from residence; case active.700 block U.S. 64 Alternate West, 12:52 p.m. July 12: gray Toyota Corolla valued at $7,000 stolen from residence; case active.200 block Nelson Street, Bethel, 8:58 p.m. July 13: air conditioning unit valued at $3,600 stolen from residence; case active.1900 block Gateway Boulevard, 3:14 a.m. July 14: burglary at residence. $5,000 stolen; case active.100 block Prickly Pear Drive, midnight July 13- 5:26 p.m. July 14: break-in at residence. Electronics valued at $200 stolen; case active.701 Moye Blvd., 1:29 a.m. July 15: beer valued at $25 stolen at Sheetz; case closed by arrest.

    Assaults
