    Crime Roundup: Charges leveled in Greenville drive-by shooting

    Three men have been charged in connection to a shooting that injured a man on Pitt Street last week, according to the Greenville Police Department.

    An incident report said officers responded about 5 p.m. on July 6 to the Pitt Street Mini Mart, 1701 Pitt St., for a report of a 23-year-old man shot in the leg during a drive-by shooting.

    A police spokesperson said the man was transported to ECU Health Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

    Later that evening officers located and stopped the suspect vehicle at the Shell gas station, 3000 E. 10th St. The occupants of the car, Trevon Delaney, 20, of 1711 Spruce St., Greenville, and Dontravion Waller, 20, were interviewed and charged with accessory after the fact. The spokesperson said it is believed the two were in the car at the time of the shooting.

    The investigation led to the identification of Victor Nasir Rivera, 20, as the primary suspect. He was arrested Monday at his residence, 1205 W. Ragsdale St., Greenville, and charged with attempted first degree murder and assault with a deadly weapon with into to kill. He was jailed in the Pitt County Detention Center under a $50,000 secured bond.

    Additional arrests are possible.
