Six homes that are part of the City of Greenville’s Lincoln Park affordable housing development should soon be on the market.

The City Council is scheduled to set the fair market value of the homes during its Sept. 12 meeting. When the homes were completed in early July it was estimated the sales prices would range from the low to mid-$200,000s, officials said at the time.

“There has been a lot of interest. The phones have been ringing off the hook since it was announced last year these homes were going to be built,” said Renee Skeen, program manager for Greenville Neighborhood and Business Services’ Community Development Division.

During the last year about 40 people have attended the city’s homebuyers workshop, one of the qualifications for the city’s down payment assistance program, which can make up to $40,000 available to aid potential buyers.

The city also is working with two state home assistance programs, NC 1st Home Advantage Down Payment and Community Partners Loan Pool. A person who qualifies for all three programs could receive up to $105,000 in down payment assistance.

The six houses, built by Bill Clark Homes, are between 1,200 and 1,400 square feet in size and are located in the area of Fleming Street and Bancroft Avenue in west Greenville.

They have three and four bedrooms with two bathrooms and have amenities such as granite countertops and luxury vinyl plank flooring.

A four-bedroom home has a walk-in shower in the primary bedroom’s ensuite bath and a wraparound porch. A three-bedroom home has a screened back porch.

People who want to learn more about the houses can call Skeen at 252-329-4487.
