Hillsdale Academy wins SCAA championship, paced by Coldwater native Frisinger

JACKSON – The Hillsdale Academy Colts claimed their fourth straight SCAA conference championship on Monday at the 18-hole SCAA Championship meet held at Ella Sharp Park Golf Course.

Hillsdale Academy was led on the day by Coldwater native Rykert Frisinger who fired an amazing 8-under-par 63 to claim conference championship honors.

“Rykert (Frisinger) got in a rhythm early by parring the first four holes he played before he birdied the next three,” Hillsdale Academy coach Brent Falke said. “Overall, he never shot above par, birdied six holes, and bagged an eagle on the par 5 fourteenth hole. Frisinger’s round was one of the best rounds ever shot by a Hillsdale Academy golfer and one of the lowest scores ever seen in the SCAA conference.”

Frisinger’s teammates also did their part in leading the Colts to a commanding 57 stroke win over the second-place team from Jackson Christian.

Also helping Hillsdale Academy to the dominant win were Kahle Welden with a two-over-par 73; Ridley fast with a 77; Quincy native Lincoln Knirk with a 78; Ben Lutz with an 86; and Vincent Reagle with a 96.

The Colts swept the first four individual finishing spots, while putting five golfers in the top 10.

Hillsdale Academy’s 291 was their lowest 18-hole score of the season and bested second place Jackson Christian’s score of 348.

Hillsdale Academy will next see action on May 20 when they host the Division 4 Regional 21 meet at the Coldwater Golf Course.
