COLDWATER — For about half the county’s residents, Saturday is the day to get rid of many hazardous materials stuck in barns, garages, basements, or around the house.

The Coldwater Board of Public Utilities will collect certain items from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Branch County Fairgrounds off Sprague Street. The program started in the 1990s.

For a second year, partner Biz Aid LLC will offer electronic recycling for televisions and monitors but require a $5 cash co-pay.

Biz Aid LLC requires no co-pay to dispose of computers, laptops, tablet equipment, printers, DVD/VCRs, game systems, phone equipment, keyboards, stereos, wires, cables, cords, all types of batteries, and other electronic devices containing batteries and/or circuit boards.
