All Faiths Food Bank has been helping relief efforts after Hurricane Helene.

Assisting in Sarasota and DeSoto counties, it distributed hundreds of food boxes and thousands of bottles of emergency water, it stated in a news release.

They assisted a Twin Lakes Park evacuation shelter and Colonial Oaks residents, it stated.

“Our hearts are breaking for those impacted by Hurricane Helene — the images from affected areas are difficult to process,” AFFB President/CEO Nelle S. Miller stated. “But we want everyone to know that we are here for community members before, during and after a storm. Once our neighbors who are currently displaced are back in their homes, they’ll need to fill their refrigerators and cupboards and — thanks to the support of our generous community — we will be there for them.”

The agency stated ways to assist include:

Monetary donations that can be made at allfathsfoodbank.org.Host a virtual fundraiser to raise money for people in the community.Volunteer. Volunteers are urgently needed, it stated.

“If you or someone you know needs food, visit allfaithsfoodbank.org and click on the Food Finder link to find a list of distributions near you,” it stated.
