Most Southwest Florida YMCAs are opened as community hubs, offering showers, charging stations, Wi-Fi and more.

Residents do not need to be a member of YMCA to use the services. A photo ID will need to be presented for security reasons, according to YMCA of Southwest Florida Vice President of Development Jamie Browning.

He added Wi-Fi can't be offered at some locations because it's not available.

The status of the YMCA locations in Charlotte and Sarasota counties are:

    Venice YMCA — Open

    Englewood YMCA — Open

Franz Ross YMCA (Port Charlotte) — Open

Punta Gorda YMCA — Closed; officials are working to open it.

    Sarasota City YMCA — Open

Palmer Ranch YMCA — Closed; officials are working to open it.

"As additional branches are cleared and powered, we will continue to open our doors to our communities across Southwest Florida," Browning said. "The YMCA is here to support you, provide comfort and help our community heal."
