University of Denver men's soccer senior midfielder Sam Bassett was named to the 2024 United Soccer Coaches' Division I Men's Soccer Midfielders to Watch list on Friday.

Bassett was named a United Soccer Coaches' Second Team All-American a year ago, after scoring a career-high eight goals and tallying a career-high seven assists for 23 points in his junior campaign.

Bassett finished 47th in points per game (1.28). The Littleton native had four career game-winning goals and is a perfect 5-for-5 from the penalty spot.

Denver will open the preseason on Sunday when the Pioneers welcome Air Force to the University of Denver Soccer Stadium. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m.
