While it was announced in June that Colorado's wolves had formed their first official 'pack' upon the birth of at least one pup, additional details were scarce. A big question that remained was how big the litter was, with the typical gray wolf litter size ranging from four to six offspring.

Video captured by Mike Usalavage and reviewed by Colorado Parks and Wildlife experts confirms that at least three pups are present in the Copper Creek pack.

The Copper Creek pack has been present in the Grand County area, with the footage captured by Usalavage showing the three pups at play near a puddle. An adult was also present.

The young wolves were estimated to be a healthy 40 to 50 pounds each, with their play behavior said to serve the important purpose of teaching them how to communicate and hunt.

    Watch the clip below:

Colorado Parks and Wildlife used the occurrence to remind the public to report potential wolf sightings to the agency online.

It's also worth noting that this clip shows off the wolves' dog-like behavior. Do not mistake gray wolves for pets, as this species is a dangerous predator. Even younger members of the species can cause serious injury and potential death.

With all the mess CPW made with the wolf introduction…now they’re trying to make us believe they’re “sweet little babies”. They aren’t. The cattle , sheep and calves that were brutally killed -not to mention the untold numbers of deer, fawns and elk and other small game that also died to get to this next generation of killing machines. Shame on you!
