Sam Bassett is on a list.

An esteemed list.

Bassett, a senior midfielder who attended Chatfield High, was named to the MAC Hermann Trophy watch list Thursday. It's the award given to the national Player of the Year in men's and women's college soccer.

Bassett was named a second-team All-American last season. He had career highs in goals (eight), assists (seven) and points (23). He was named the 2023 Summit League Midfielder of the Year and finished in the top 50 in the country in points and assists for the Pios.

Bassett starred for the Colorado Rapids development program, coming in as the top goal scorer for the Rapids U15 program in 2016. He also led Real Colorado U17s in assists.
