    Where good news shines

Who had a better Saturday than CSU Pueblo running back Howard Russell?

On offense in the RMAC, no one.

Russell, a senior from Phoenix, was named RMAC offensive player of the week after scoring three touchdowns in No. 22/24 CSU Pueblo's 38-14 win over Colorado Mesa. He finished with 142 rushing yards on 18 carries, an average of nearly 8 yards per touch.

Russell was the first Thunderwolves player to score three or more rushing touchdowns since 2018. CSU Pueblo (3-1, 2-0 RMAC) plays at Adams State (0-3, 0-1) Saturday.

Honorable mentions for offensive player of the week: Navarre Dixon III, Black Hills State; Wyatt Sprague, Chadron State; Trevin Edwards, Colorado Mesa; Jake Martinelli, South Dakota Mines; Braeden Hogan, Western Colorado.
