What happened: The Avalanche couldn't outscore their goaltending for the second straight game, dropping to 0-2 on the season having given up a whopping 14 goals against.

What went right: Colorado's new-look third line brought the energy all game long, creating plenty of scoring chance and drawing some penalties as well. Miles Wood scored a goal right where he's expected to score both of his goals, in front of the net.

What went wrong: Goaltending...again. It was poor goaltending for both teams but the Avalanche might be facing a real crisis in net, as Georgiev was pulled for the second straight game. Jared Bednar did not look happy when he made the decision either.

Between the pipes: Alexandar Georgiev stopped just six of the nine shots he faced before being pulled.

What’s next: The Avalanche host Patrick Roy and the New York Islanders on Monday at Ball Arena at 7 p.m.
