Dieter Eiselen's time on the practice squad did not last long.

The Broncos on Saturday released the offensive lineman to make room on the squad for running back Blake Watson. The five-year veteran had been signed to the practice squad on Oct. 8 to provide depth at center after Luke Wattenberg suffered an ankle injury Oct. 6 against Las Vegas.

Wattenberg ended up being replaced on injured reserve, and Alex Forsyth has taken over as the starting center. Calvin Throckmorton has been elevated from the practice squad the past two games to serve as the reserve center.

Watson, an undrafted rookie from Memphis, had been on the 53-man roster until being waived Thursday. He cleared waivers Friday and The Denver Gazette reported he would sign with the Broncos' practice squad.

Watson has been active for one game this season, playing one snap from scrimmage and one on special teams against the Raiders. He did not get a touch on his one offensive play.

The Broncos (4-3) are off this weekend after winning 33-10 at New Orleans on Thursday night. They will play Carolina next Sunday at Empower Field at Mile High.
