    Police investigate shooting death at Aurora park

    A shooting investigation is underway in Aurora after officers on Monday morning found a man dead by apparent gunshot in a park.

    In a Aurora Police Department news release, officials say the man was found unresponsive around 5:45 a.m. in a park at 3rd Avenue and Elmira Street. The intersection is near the Lowry neighborhood and at McMullen Park.

    Police said evidence suggests the man was fatally shot. He was pronounced dead on-scene, according to police.

    Exact timelines, suspects and cause of the shooting remains unknown.
