    Western and central Iowa saw plenty of rain and a wet start for both Wednesday and Thursday.

    The National Weather Service in Des Moines said showers and storms will continue to move through the state in the morning. There is a chance for scattered showers in southeast Iowa on Thursday night.

    Here are the highest rainfall totals reported in Iowa from Wednesday morning through 8 a.m. Thursday.

    • Iowa City: 2.53 inches
    • Quad Cities: 2.36 inches
    • Cherokee: 1.35 inches
    • Clarion: 1.3 inches
    • Spencer: 1.28 inches

    A total of 0.94 inches of rain was recorded at the Des Moines International Airport for Wednesday and Thursday.
