    New anchor joins WOI's 'Good Morning Iowa' this week

    Local 5 started the week with a new "Good Morning Iowa" anchor and executive producer.

    Joseph Holloway joins Local 5 We are Iowa after experience reporting and anchoring in Arkansas, Oklahoma and North Carolina.

    Who is Joseph Holloway?

    Holloway has over a decade of experience in local news and has worked freelance in sports journalism for ESPN, CBS, and Cox Sports Television.

    Holloway has a passion for helping the community stay informed, a news release said.

    “People have a right to know what’s going on in their neighborhoods," Hollaway said in the news release. "I’m passionate about making sure they know the whole story so they can make their own decisions.”

    A Carlisle resident, Holloway lives with his wife, Kylee, and their dogs, Georgia and Magnolia, the news release said. His hobbies include working out, watching sports, playing tennis and cheering on the Arkansas Razorbacks.

    When was Joseph Holloway's first day on 'Good Morning Iowa'?

    Holloway started on Monday behind the anchor desk for “Good Morning Iowa,” sharing the latest news with central Iowans from 5-7 a.m.

    He joins co-anchor Chenue Her, who announced that he's leaving the station on Aug. 30. Holloway replaces anchor Samantha Mesa who left in May .
