Pleasant Hill police identified the man who was killed in a crash involving multiple vehicles on Highway 65 on Thursday as 75-year-old Leonard Ochylski of Pleasant Hill.

First responders were dispatched to Highway 65 near East University Avenue for a crash that involved four vehicles at around 12:40 p.m., Cpt. Amy Kramer said in a news release. The crash shut down traffic on the highway for several hours.

Investigators concluded that one car traveling northbound entered another northbound lane and struck a car, Kramer said. The collision pushed the two vehicles into the median and into oncoming traffic in the southbound lanes of Highway 65.

Both cars collided into two other cars in the southbound lane, Kramer said.

Two out of the four people injured were extracted from their vehicles.

Three were transported via ambulance and one was transported with Life Flight helicopter. Ochylski later died.

Pleasant Hill police did not say if Ochylski was a driver or a passenger or in which vehicle he was traveling.

The other individuals were treated and released, Kramer said.
