Des Moines police asked the public on Thursday to be on the lookout for a man who is wanted in connection with a shooting that left a woman hospitalized.

Chad “Stormy” Luesebrink, 50, has an active arrest warrant for attempted murder in connection with the shooting of a 45-year-old woman on Monday, the Des Moines Police Department said in a social media post .

The shooting incident occurred at a homeless camp near the 1600 block of Southeast Harriet Street, police said. The victim has since had surgery and is expected to recover.

Luesebrink is known to frequent homeless camps near the river and the downtown area.

He is 5 foot 9 inches tall and weighs 175 pounds, police said.

Police are asking the community not to approach Luesebrink because he may be armed. Anyone with any information about Luesebrink's whereabouts should call 911.
