    Friends of former "American Pickers" star Frank Fritz will hold a motorcycle run as a celebration of his life after he died Sept. 30.

    The Iowa native was 60 years old when he passed. He struggled with his health following a debilitating stroke in 2022. Fritz spent more than a decade on "American Pickers" hunting antique motorcycles, petrol memorabilia, and toys. After more than a decade on the show, Fritz went on to own an antique store in Savanna, Illinois, called Frank Fritz Finds .

    Fritz's celebration of life motorcycle run is expected to be in the spring, according to CBS News, who spoke with Annette Oberlander , a longtime friend of Fritz.

    On the new episode of Season 26 of "American Pickers," co-star Mike Wolfe took to Instagram to highlight Fritz's legacy. Wolfe said he dedicated the new episode and all of the coming season in Fritz's honor.

    "The timing of this and Frank’s passing is not great however we have been making shows without Frank for four years now and we have always wanted him to be back with this crew, but he couldn’t due to health issues," Wolfe said via his Instagram post . "Every time the crew and I were in Iowa, we would go and sit by Frank’s side and let him know how much he was missed, how he could never be replaced and we will work incredibly hard on every episode to make him proud."

    Fritz, a fan favorite known for his dark beard, quick smile and deep passion for vintage motorcycles, was in hospice in Davenport when he died on Sept. 30. He had been in poor health since having a stroke more than two years ago, the complications of which exaggerated his severe Crohn’s disease, according to friends. He was 60.

    The antique enthusiast’s death was confirmed by his longtime companion and History channel co-star, Mike Wolfe, who posted on Instagram that he was by Fritz’s side “when he took one last journey home.”

    “I’ve know(n) Frank for more than half my life and what you’ve seen on TV has always been what I have seen, a dreamer who was just as sensitive as he was funny,” Wolfe wrote. “The same off camera as he was on, Frank had a way of reaching the hearts of so many by just being himself.”
