The Riverside County coroner has identified the man who died in a car crash in Cathedral City on Thursday afternoon as 48-year-old William Ceballos Morales .

Police say Morales, who lived in the city, died after he apparently suffered a medical emergency while driving and crashed into two vehicles.

The crash occurred at around 1:15 p.m. on Vista Chino west of its intersection with Avenida Quintana, which is located near an entrance to the Desert Princess community, according to a press release from the department.

Police said an initial investigation suggests Morales had been heading east on Vista Chino before suffering the emergency and drifting into the westbound lanes, where he hit the vehicles. He was pronounced dead at the scene. A driver of one of the other vehicles was brought to a hospital with minor injuries, while the driver of the third vehicle was uninjured.
