An 18-year-old man died after he was shot in Coachella on Wednesday night, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

A department spokesperson reported that deputies were dispatched to the intersection of Calle Rojo and Calle Camacho after multiple gunshots were heard in the area around 10:30 p.m. That's in a residential neighborhood one block off of Cesar Chavez Street, southwest of the city's downtown.

Deputies arrived to find a man bleeding in the middle of the street.

Paramedics pronounced the man dead at the scene, and the coroner later identified him as Isaac Gonzalez of Coachella.

The sheriff's department is investigating Gonzalez's death as a homicide but have not made any arrests.
