Valley Voice original poem: 'Everyday Christmas'

    By Steve Soto,

Why can’t we always act like we do,when lights are on houses and kids are off school.

When a jolly red man gives all that he can,and you shop and you shop til you can no longer stand.

When people buy gifts for everyone and their all,and there’s no parking at all at each city mall.

Why can’t we shop for those all in need, let’s take some time to put aside so much greed.

When we wish all a very merry day,why is that something we can’t always say.

When all our thoughts are for peace here on earth, which we should have had from the day of our birth.

Why does it take a special day to be nice, when you smile at all, more than once even twice.

So live every day with love in your heart, you don’t have to wait for Santa to start.
