Coachella Valley High School was placed on a lockdown Friday afternoon after a report of a weapon at the school, but the lockdown was lifted about 90 minutes later after a search by sheriff's deputies found no weapon.

Riverside County sheriff's deputies were sent to the school at about 12:30 p.m. after a report of a weapon at the school, said a sheriff's department spokesperson, Lt. Deidre Vickers.

The school was placed into lockdown while deputies searched. At around 2 p.m., Vickers reported the lockdown had been lifted after no weapon was found. However, she said deputies were continuing to investigate.
