NFL picks for Week 4: Rams a popular upset pick for our group of educated guessers

Picking NFL games is not easy and it seems to get less easy by the week.

Why would Denver win at Tampa Bay last week? Why would the Raiders win at Baltimore the week before? Who is going to be the team that makes us say "Huh?" this week?

Our Desert Sun NFL picking team — sports editor Matt Solinsky, columnist Shad Powers, reporters Andrew John and Larry Bohannan, local TV sports guys Blake Arthur and Tim O'Brien, and former NFL player turned high school coach James Dockery — will try to find that unlikely winner this week.

Bohannan had the best week last week going 11-5. The best pick last week was by John with a loner on the Giants over the Browns.

The current overall standings look like this:

• 29-19: Larry Bohannan, James Dockery
• 28-20: Matt Solinsky, Shad Powers
• 27-21: Blake Arthur, Tim O'Brien
• 25-23: Andrew John

Here is this week's picks grid. The Rams over the Bears is a popular upset pick, but there is a lot of striation this week. Only four of the 16 games saw unanimous agreement among our pickers.
