Michigan football has its first real test of the 2024 season on Saturday when it hosts No. 3 Texas at the Big House .

The No. 9-ranked Wolverines , who are expected to play two quarterbacks in Davis Warren and Alex Orji, are set for a star-studded matchup with the Longhorns , who fell to Washington in the College Football Playoff last season. Saturday's game could have CFP implications, with either program earning a resume booster with a win.

THESE ARE FIRE: The best signs at ESPN's College Gameday as Michigan takes on Texas

Warren, a former walk-on who started Michigan's season opener against Kent State, completed 15 of 25 passes for 118 yards with a touchdown and an interception in Week 1. Orji, a dual-threat QB, completed 1 of 2 passes for 3 yards and a touchdown while rushing five times for 32 yards. Warren won the starting job in the offseason and is expected to take majority of the snaps on Saturday, as he did in Week 1.

The Wolverines will be tasked with stopping a high-powered offense led by coach Steve Sarkisian and third-year starting quarterback Quinn Ewers, the former Ohio State transfer who has six consecutive games with at least 300 passing yards against ranked opponents.
