Looks like Billy Corgan, frontman of The Smashing Pumpkins, did some sightseeing when he was in town mid-week.

In a video posted on TikTok , Corgan, donning a Pittsburgh Pirates baseball cap, appears to be sitting on the unmistakable red bricks in front of Independence Hall at The Greenfield Village in Dearborn.

Corgan signs "I love you" in American Sign Language and says "sign language as requested." It is not clear who the message is directed to, but it could be to Detroit or to his fans, in general.

There is no indication when the video was shot, but it was posted four days ago, on Wednesday, Sept. 4, the day the Smashing Pumpkins played Comerica Park with Green Day, Rancid and the Linda Lindas.

During Green Day's set on Wednesday, the band abruptly rush offstage early in the show after a drone flew over Comerica Park. A person has since been detained.

In Brian McCollum's review of the night, and specifically of the Smashing Pumpkin's hour-long set, he said: "Billy Corgan — donned in a floor-length black cloak — provided a reliably demonstrative stage presence to lead a crisp but cinematic set.

"With new touring member Kiki Wong adding to the three-guitar attack with Corgan and James Iha, it was a Pumpkins performance that was happy to reach back to the ’90s — 'Disarm,' 'Today,' '1979,' 'Cherub Rock' — and throw in a grinding, turned-inside-out cover of U2’s 'Zoo Station' for good measure, complete with a Jimmy Chamberlin drum solo for some good old fashioned Gen X rock glory."
