NFL Network show has no faith Detroit Lions will beat Rams in Week 1

The NFL Network's "GameDay Morning" crew is not feeling the Detroit Lions in their Week 1 opener vs. the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday Night Football .

That included Steve Mariucci, the former Lions coach and Upper Peninsula native from Iron Mountain.

Neither was longtime "GameDay" host Rich Eisen (a faithful Michigan alumnus), colorful analyst Kyle Brandt nor analyst Gerald McCoy , a six-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle last decade. The lone Lions pick came from Hall of Famer quarterback Kurt Warner — who helped the Rams to two Super Bowl appearances, including the 1999 championship.

"Kurt somehow lucked into lone-wolfing the Lions, at home tonight," Eisen said with their Week 1 picks graphic on screen one final time just before 1 p.m.

Warner responded to a fan's tweet asking him how he could pick the Lions.

Warner's response: "Haha - bc I just pick who I think will win and not who I want - and I think it will be a great game & would love to see Rams win!"

The "GameDay" Rams picks came in stark comparison to ESPN's expert panel, with 10 of 11 picking the Lions to win in a rematch of their thrilling 24-23 wild-card playoff win in the same building eight months ago.
