Michigan football might have suffered a big blow at the end of the first half against Arkansas State.

Tight end and leading receiver Colston Loveland left the game in the second quarter favoring his left arm in the Wolverines' final drive of the first half. He came down with a 20-yard catch over the middle and came up favoring his arm and he was seen talking to the trainers on the sideline afterward.

An illegal formation penalty negated the completion and Davis Warren threw his second interception of the half plays later. The Wolverines lead Arkansas State 21-3 at half.

Loveland, Michigan's leading pass catcher this season, appeared to be fine and was on the field to start the second half, but after a catch on the first play he was tackled and landed awkwardly, again walking off the field while shaking his head.

Shortly after, he was shown walking to the locker room for further evaluation.

Loveland eventually returned to the sidelines but without his helmet or shoulder pads, signifying he was done for the day.

He has been a primary target over the middle for Warren and hauled in 16 catches for 157 yards and one touchdown against Fresno State and Texas. He is a projected first-round or second-round pick in the 2025 NFL draft if he declares.

He was replaced by Marlin Klein, the 6 feet 6, 250-pound junior backup from Germany. Klein hauled in two catches for 40 yards on the two plays after Loveland exited.
