Dodge opens orders for 2024 Charger Daytona EVs

    2024-09-17

Orders have opened for the 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona R/T and 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack.

The two-door Dodge muscle cars are the Stellantis brand's first foray into fully electric vehicles and are expected to be available in the fourth quarter of this year. The company previously listed the starting price for the R/T at $59,595 and the Scat Pack at $73,190, both excluding the $1,995 destination charge.

Gas-powered and four-door versions of these muscle cars — 496 horsepower for the R/T and 670 for the Scat Pack, which includes a 15-second 40 HP "power shot" delivered by push button — along with a Banshee EV high-performance model have also been promised down the road, but company officials have gone to great lengths to tout the chops of these first EVs.

The Scat Pack, for instance, is said to reach "0-60 mph in 3.3 seconds while running the quarter-mile in an estimated 11.5 seconds, maintaining Dodge’s throne as the world’s quickest and most powerful muscle car," according to a news release.

“We are dedicated to pushing the boundaries, and we know our customers are driven by performance, so customers who make the 'first call' by having their name on a sold order of the next-generation Dodge Charger by Oct. 31, 2024, will receive a First Call experience loaded for performance, including a two-day driving experience at the Radford Racing School (in Chandler, Arizona), a First Call welcome kit and custom VIP concierge service,” Matt McAlear, Dodge brand CEO , said in the release.

Darren Jacobs, a spokesman for Stellantis, said a "sold order" refers to a Charger customer order placed through a dealer. He said that any deposit amount would be determined between the dealer and the customer.

All orders must be confirmed by Oct. 31, and the customer must eventually take delivery in order to receive the First Call experience, Jacobs said.

Ordering information is available at dodgegarage.com .

The First Call welcome kit promises "an official letter of authenticity documenting the vehicle as a First Call Dodge Charger Daytona, Dodge-branded leather driving gloves," the release said.

In addition, all-electric Charger Daytona model purchases are to include either an at-home level 2 charging station or $600 in charge credits through Stellantis' Free2move Charge. The vehicles will also qualify for the full $7,500 federal EV tax credit, the company noted.

The electric Charger Daytona is being assembled at the Windsor Assembly Plant in Canada. Stellantis also owns the Jeep, Ram, Chrysler and Fiat brands.
