The second fatal victim in Sunday's Eastern Market tailgate shooting has been identified as Jalen Welch, 25, the Wayne County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed Tuesday afternoon.

Welch and Rayshawn Bryant, 40, were killed after police said an argument ended with gunfire during a Detroit Lions tailgate in the market's open-air shed known as Shed 6. Both men were from Detroit, according to police.

Police have not provided more details on what exactly prompted the shooting but Bryant's family members told the Free Press that Bryant was trying to break up a fight between two men when he was shot.

A suspect from Oak Park was arrested but no charges have been announced.

Welch's father, Mitch Welch, said his family is working on funeral arraignments for their loved one. They aren't ready to speak about his death publicly, he said.

A Facebook page for Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church in Talladega, Alabama posted that Welch was the grandson of a pastor there. The church took to Facebook to express condolences to the Welch family:

"May the God of all comfort, comfort and bring peace to this family during their hour of bereavement," the church wrote in the post.
