Watch replay: Donald Trump town hall event in Flint

Donald Trump returned to Michigan today in his first public appearance since a second assassination attempt on the former president's life.

On Sunday, after seeing a gun barrel in nearby bushes while Trump was playing golf, Secret Service agents fired on suspect Ryan Routh, who fled but was later caught. Routh, who appeared in federal court Monday on firearms charges, never fired a shot and did not have a line of sight to Trump, authorities said.

Tuesday's event in Flint is expected to be a town hall format, scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Dort Financial Center.

Trump's last Michigan visit was to Eaton County's Potterville on Aug. 29 .
