The Tigers' dream run continues

The "Gritty Tigs" just keep on winning!

The Detroit Tigers, left for dead in early August after falling 8 games below .500, are suddenly the talk of baseball after finishing a sweep of the Houston Astros on Wednesday in the American League wild-card series. The young, scrappy club got it done despite blowing a late 1-0 lead in the 7th inning, promptly responding with an Andy Ibáñez 3-run triple just an inning later.

This is the type of miraculous run that makes October baseball so special, Shawn Windsor writes .
