    Controversy in Cleveland?

The Detroit Tigers found themselves in a desperate situation in the eighth inning of Game 2 of the ALDS, still tied 0-0 against the Cleveland Guardians despite a Tarik Skubal masterclass that was among the best performance by any Tigers pitcher in playoff history.

With two outs in the eighth, the Guardians decided to bring in dominant closer Emmanuel Clase to tey and get the four-out save.

The Tigers had Matt Vierling standing on second base with a good chance of scoring if rookie Wenceel Pérez could somehow get a bat on a Clase pitch. He did just that.

Pérez slapped the pitch into left-center field for what looked like sure-fire hit until left fielder Steven Kwan somehow made a diving catch to grab the ball just before it hit the grass. Or did he?

Tigers manager A.J. Hinch quickly decided the play was worth a challenge, but after a review, the umpire crew decided to stick with the call on the field: Pérez was out.

Because of how Kwan's glove was positioned while making the catch, it was almost impossible to say if Kwan for sure made the catch clean, but considering the hit would've score Vierling, it had the chance to live in infamy among Tigers fans.

Take a look at the controversial play below.
