How about spending Thursday evening at Comerica Park, then popping over to Little Caesars Arena for some hockey?

With the Detroit Tigers having secured a Game 4 in the American League Division Series on Thursday at home, scheduled to start at 6:08 p.m., the Detroit Red Wings announced today that the team's season opener will start at 8 p.m. instead of its original 7 p.m. time.

There'll still be some overlap between the games, but it should be possible to catch most of both games, whether in person or streaming.

Of course, there are the logistics of getting tens of thousands of people to downtown Detroit, too. From the Red Wings' statement: "With heavy traffic volume expected that evening in downtown Detroit, fans are encouraged to arrive early and to give themselves extra time by reserving parking in advance at Olympia Parking locations by visiting ParkWhiz.com ."
