Tom Brady absolutely LOVES Detroit Lions offense vs. Dallas Cowboys

Tom Brady loves the Detroit Lions offense.

The Lions dug deep in the playbook to take a two-touchdown lead over the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday afternoon in Arlington, Texas.

Early in the second quarter with the Lions leading 10-3 near midfield, offensive coordinator Ben Johnson called a double reverse flea flicker that ended up being a 52-yard touchdown pass from Jared Goff to tight end Sam LaPorta.

Goff flipped it to David Montgomery , who flipped it back to Amon-Ra St. Brown who returned it to Goff, and the quarterback fired a strike to the wide-open tight end down the sideline. LaPorta blocked initially, then leaked down the right side, caught the ball around the 30-yard line and outran the defense for his first score of the season.

On the Fox broadcast, Brady, a Hall of Fame quarterback and first-year color commentator, was infatuated with the Lions' creativity and execution.

“Come on," Brady said. "If you’re not having fun watching that, you don’t have a heartbeat."

After the commercial break, he broke down why he's so impressed with the Lions' offense, starting with Johnson's playcalling and system under head coach Dan Campbell.

"I’d love to be the quarterback in this offense, it's just so much fun," a giddy Brady said. "Again, there's a lot of variety to choose from. ... So when I look at this offense, it reminds me of what great offense should be in the NFL. This is a great blueprint, they're under center a lot. A lot of it's play-action pass, a lot of it's deception, so, it really slows that defense down, and you see the benefits of it."

The touchdown, which drew some audible "Jared Goff" chants from the Lions' contingent at AT&T Stadium, was the same play design as LaPorta's touchdown last season against the Carolina Panthers from his record-breaking rookie year.

The Lions ran up the score on the decimated Cowboys defense, ahead 27-6 at halftime.
