The Detroit Lions could be without a starting offensive lineman for the second time in three games.

Right guard Kevin Zeitler injured his hip in practice Thursday and is a longshot to play in Sunday's game against the Minnesota Vikings, Lions coach Dan Campbell said.

"Look, if you’re asking me, I think it’s going to be hard to say he’s playing," Campbell said. "I think it’ll be hard to say he’s playing, but I don’t want to say he's out right now. I’m not there yet."

The Lions (4-1) face a Vikings team that's one of two remaining unbeatens teams in the NFL and has one of the league's most ferocious pass rushes . Minnesota (5-0) is tied for second in the NFL with 13 takeaways and has the eighth-highest sack percentage (8.7%) in the league.

PLAN FOR NO HUTCH: Detroit Lions aren't sweating life after Aidan Hutchinson: Here's why

Zeitler, who was given a veteran day of rest Wednesday, was listed as questionable with a groin injury on the Lions injury report. If he can't play Sunday, Kayode Awosika will start in his place.

Awosika started at left guard in the Lions' Week 4 win over the Seattle Seahawks, when Graham Glasgow moved to center as an injury replacement for Frank Ragnow.

Carlton Davis III, who missed practice Wednesday and Thursday with a quad injured he suffered against the Cowboys, returned to practice Friday. He also is listed as questionable, but told the Free Press he's "good" to go Sunday.
