Detroit Red Wings vs. Nashville Predators: What time, TV channel is tonight's game on?

By Andrew Birkle, Detroit Free Press,

It hasn't been the start anyone with the Detroit Red Wings would've envisioned.

After their second consecutive loss to the New York Rangers on Thursday , the Wings are now 1-3-0 for the season and have been beaten by a combined score of 15-6 in their three losses.

In the one Red Wings victory over the Predators, who they play again Saturday afternoon, the Wings played a clean game, shutting them out in a 3-0 victory.

There have been a couple big issues for the Wings so far. The easiest one to point to is the issues with the power play, which is ranked 25th in the NHL as the Wings have scored on just 12.5% of their man advantages, despite many good opportunities.

But really, that's just the tip of the iceberg. Entering Friday's slate of games, the Wings ranked 30th in penalty kill (64.3%), 30th in face-offs (44.6%), 29th in goals scored (2.25 per game) and 23rd in goals against (3.75 per game).

THE ROSTER MOVE: Detroit Red Wings, trying to get on track, call up 2022 first-rounder Marco Kasper

To try and get things heading back in the right direction, the Red Wings have called up highly-touted prospect Marco Kasper , who is just 20-year-old but starred in the Wings' training camp and preseason games.

Red Wings coach Derek Lalonde had previously said if they brought up Kasper, it would be for an extended period, as the team doesn't want to bounce around its young players. That means Wings fans should be able to count on Kasper being part of the mix for at least the next few games, but of course, you never know for certain how long he'll be up, or if he'll ever go back down.
