Letter to the Editor: Pump the Brakes on Green Energy
I believe most Americans want to preserve our environment and are willing to make a reasonable sacrifice to do so. The current national policy, that of moving at warp speed toward green energy and renewable sources of energy will, in my opinion, move the United States from a respected super-power to a whimpering national begging for the energy crumbs of other emerging nations. In the past three years we have...

While she was being treated at Johns Hopkins Hospital, doctors discovered something unusual: the cell samples that they took from Henrietta could survive outside of her...
County Executive withdraws controversial mixed-use development bill
Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski has withdrawn a controversial bill that would drastically change the approval process for building mixed-use developments. Mixed-use developments combine multiple uses like housing and retail onto one property. It can also include things like community spaces, libraries, entertainment venues and restaurants. Currently, a mixed-use project in Baltimore County needs to go through the Planned Unit Development (PUD) process. To proceed, a PUD needs to provide a substantial benefit to the public, and the County Council ultimately votes to approve or...
