SANTA TERESA, NEW MEXICO — The Mountain View and Santa Teresa football game ended earlier than expected after the two teams became testy.

With 6:30 remaining in the game Thursday night, Aug. 29, game officials stopped the play before tensions escalated further. Mountain View won the season opener 33-7.

Early in the fourth quarter, with about 11 minutes remaining in the game, near the Santa Teresa sideline, both teams began shouting at each other, and some were pushing and shoving between players.

Santa Teresa head coach Shae Vierra and Mountain View head coach DJ Check, along with a Santa Teresa and Mountain View player, were ejected due to unsportsmanlike conduct, and then the game continued.

After the game, fans and both teams left the stadium separately and quietly, and there appeared to be no further incidents.
