Week 2 of the Texas high school football season kicks off in El Paso on Thursday with the Southside Bowl. Bowie football looks for a big season, and Jefferson has eyes on a better season at the Sun Bowl, one of four games in El Paso on the night.

Friday features matchups such as Odessa Permian vs. Eastlake, Midland High vs. Pebble Hills and Parkland at Parkland.
