Get ready to celebrate, pizza enthusiasts. National Pepperoni Pizza Day is Friday, Sept. 20 — a day dedicated to honoring the king of pizza toppings: spicy, delicious pepperoni.

Americans' love for pepperoni is apparent in how much they consume—people across the country eat about 251 pounds of the topping annually, according to a report by the Washington Post.

Several pizza chains have deals, and even one of the largest suppliers of pepperoni, Hormel Foods Corporation, has a contest for a free trip to Chicago or New York or be one of 10,000 winners who get coupons for free pepperoni.

Domino's introduces 'MOREflation'; Mix & Match deal also available

While these deals are not specifically tied to National Pepperoni Pizza Day, Domino's has a few deals customers can use.

Customers can order any two or more menu items for $6.99 each as part of the company's Mix & Match deal. Additionally, when online customers mix and match any two or more medium two-topping pizzas from Domino's, they can upgrade one of their pizzas to a large for free from Sept. 9-29, the company announced earlier this month. The free upgrade is part of the company's effort to combat "shrinkflation" by giving customers more food for the same price.

Papa Johns offers 'Papa Pairings,' deal on XL New York-style pizza

Papa Johns is currently offering a deal similar to Domino's 'Mix & Match deal: Customers can pair any two or more Papa Pairings items for $6.99 each.

Customers can choose between medium 1-topping pizzas, wings, breadsticks, cheese sticks, Papadias or desserts.

Little Caesars offers deal on 3-meat treat

While also not tied to National Pepperoni Pizza Day, Little Caesars fans can take advantage of the company's 3-Meat Treat.

The offer features a large pizza topped with pepperoni, Italian sausage and bacon for just $8.99 and is available as a Hot-N-Ready option from 4-8 p.m. local time.

Customers can also add Crazy Bread and a 2-liter Pepsi-brand product to their order to make it a 3-Meat Treat Kickoff Combo for $15.99, according to the Little Caesars website. The offer is only available at participating locations, and small order fees will be applied for orders less than $12.

Peter Piper Pizza offers fall deal

Pizza lovers can get two large, one-topping pizzas for $19.99 with the purchase of a gameplay package. The offer is valid until Friday, Nov. 10 and is available in participating locations.
