Rider seriously injured in ATV crash in San Elizario

A 35-year-old man was seriously injured in an all-terrain vehicle rollover crash late Saturday night on a street in San Elizario, the El Paso County Sheriff's Office said.

The crash occurred about 10:30 p.m. at the intersection of Los Tules Drive and Hartley Avenue, sheriff's officials said in a news statement. The man, whose name has not been disclosed, was transported to a hospital with serious injuries.

Further details regarding the crash were not immediately available.

The crash is the second serious ATV accident in less than a week in El Paso County. Last Sunday, Sept. 29, a 24-year-old woman, Dianelys Crespo Gonzalez, died following an ATV rollover in the Red Sands desert.

The Sheriff’s Office reminds residents to drive safely and that ATVs are generally illegal to ride on public roads in Texas.
