Metzger helps lead Falcons to easy win

GOSHEN — Blake Metzger had been chomping at the bit to “hit someone besides my own teammates,” and chomping to help unveil Fairfield’s new offense.

Once the Falcon senior tailback arrived at Goshen’s Foreman Field on Friday, he never stopped chomping, chewing up the RedHawk defense for 226 yards rushing and three touchdowns on just 17 carries, and defensively adding a third-quarter interception at his own 1, as Fairfield whipped the Hawks 55-17 in each school’s football season opener.
