Juveniles arrested while allegedly breaking into vehicles
On June 24, at approximately 3:23 pm, officers responded to the St. Charles Towne Center parking lot after a citizen reported seeing a group of four juveniles breaking into several cars. Officers arrived to the parking lot and the four suspects immediately fled on foot but were quickly apprehended, according to a release from the Charles County Sheriff’s Office. Bootie Holson, great-granddad of 67, dies at 92
James Egbert “Bootie” Holson, 92, of Ocean View, Del., formerly of Camp Springs, died June 20. He was born in Washington to the late Edward and Catherine Holson. Bootie was married 67 years to the late Patricia Ann “Patsy” Holson. Together they raised their family of 14 children in a house they built on Old Branch Avenue in Temple Hills. Prince George's County announces cancelation of 2024 fair
The Prince George’s County Fair Board announced last week that the 2024 fair, originally slated for early September, has been canceled. On the fair’s website and Facebook, they passed along the below message: “Regrettably, we announce the cancelation of the Prince George’s County Fair for the year 2024 due to insufficient volunteer manpower. This decision has been made in the interest of ensuring a successful event in 2025 by allowing us the necessary time to rebuild our volunteer base. Thousands in goods taken from hardware store
On May 1, officers in Charles County made contact with a loss prevention officer at the Home Depot in Waldorf. The loss prevention officer told police that on April 6 and 28, Theron Douglas Kidd, 42, of Suitland allegedly stole goods totaling $6,000 from the store.
