Owner's self-care journey to overcome depression

The owner, Latonia Francois , began her self-care love journey over 10 years ago with the creation of  Let's Write Life, a faith-based wellness company for women on a journey "to rediscover the best of who they are through transformative journaling, self-discovery" by implementing programs and building community through their retreats.

Francois was dealing with her depression and learned to heal herself through journaling, faith and positive affirmations.

"Depression is like a cold. If you don't try to heal it, you will remain sick," Francois said.

The Brockton High graduate wanted to share with the world her steps to healing the crippling depression she had experienced for the majority of her life.

"I told myself I don't want my life plagued with depression, and my life pivoted when I chose to live after hitting rock bottom and wrote about things that made me happy. Journaling was a big part of my healing journey and transformation of my own life. Once I got on the side of life, I was free of depression. I'm not the same person I was before, and that's when I started Let's Write Life," Francois said. "I need more women to know this."

Francois wants nothing more than to add something "special" to the Taunton community.

Building community to her is "what life is all about."
