    'Lucky for Life' winning tickets sold on same day a mile apart in Brockton and Abington

    BROCKTON — Two winning "Lucky for Life" lottery tickets were sold in Brockton and Abington on Sunday, according to the Massachusetts State Lottery .

    Each of the winners will receive $25,000 a year for life, according to the lottery's website.

    The winning tickets were purchased on the same day at stores located about a mile from each other. One of the winning tickets was purchased at Star Food Mart in Brockton and the other was purchased at the 7-Eleven on North Quincy Street in Abington.

    The winning tickets were both one away from the game's top prize, which offers $7,000 a week (around $364,000 a year) for life.

    In 2014, another $25,000 a year for life winning ticket was sold at Sona's One Stop in Brockton. This is the first $25,000 a year for life ticket that has been sold in Abington, according to the lottery's website.

    Lucky for Life drawings occur daily at 10:38 p.m.
