I find myself struggling every few weeks

I am not sure why, but every time Thadd texts me and tells me it is my week for a column I draw a blank of what to write about.

I feel like I write about the same things over and over again and I don’t want to do that. I question if I bore my readers with what I write about or if anybody even reads my column.

I wonder how Thadd and John always have ideas to write about and I draw complete blanks. They both write such good columns every week and I am over here just driving the struggle bus.

But I also know that the two of them are both more out in the public and know more of what is going on around the counties and surrounding counties.

Someone probably wonders how I work for the newspaper, but know very little about what goes on in the county and town I live in.

Well, that would be because, I do not know as many people as they do, I do not get out in public as much as they do and I stay in my own world. I do not involve myself in things taking place around me unless it involves me or my family.

With having two young children and working full time there are days that I do not have much time to go out and do many other things. My children and my family along with their safety are my top priority, especially in the world we live in today. It is very scary to be raising two young children in this world.

I pray every day that this world finds Jesus and there are some big changes made in the leadership of this world.

I do not get into politics or anything similar to it. But what I do see is all the hurt and hate going on in this world today. It is very scary to me.

I am scared to be raising my children in this world. I fear for them and what their future may look like.

I could certainly go on and on, but I will not.

Maybe I can give y’all something interesting to read in a few weeks. However, I certainly will not make any promises. Because a lot of times things to write about leave my brain before I get a chance to put them in writing.

But for now I will keep it short and sweet. I will try to venture out and find something that interests me to write about. See if something may spark some ideas to tell everyone about.

I think I am going to see if I can get some pointers from the other two guys that write great columns all the time and see where they get their ideas from. Maybe they can give me some ideas, because I certainly struggle. Or if anyone may have an idea they would like to hear about from me, let me know.
