Under the Saddlerock Ranch Stars

It’s been years since I attended a wedding at Saddlerock Ranch, a private 1000-acre ranch nestled in the Malibu hills southwest of Los Angeles. It’s large enough to encompass 5 entirely separate wedding venues. Today the lovely couple was married at the Hilltop venue.

There were about 85 of us who attended the intimate ceremony which was followed by a cocktail reception with appetizers and then a catered meal - not to mention the traditional wedding cake. Even with 9 tables there was still plenty of room to socialize with family and friends.

As the daylight faded and the twin peaks that give Saddlerock Ranch its name were hidden by nighttime, Hilltop was lit by strings of lights which provided a charming ambiance. It was a chilly night so the portable heaters were much appreciated. The dance floor also provided a celebratory way to keep warm. The evening passed all too quickly and the newlyweds were whisked off to their new life together in a classic car.
