Under the Stars at Middle Ranch

Tucked into the hills and horse country of Lake View Terrace, 25 miles north of Los Angeles, lies the hidden beauty of Middle Ranch. The 650-acre ranch is suitable for year-round events such as weddings/receptions and horse boarding/training as well as a unique filming location.

I recently discovered Middle Ranch a few weeks ago when I attended a celebration of life for a grandfather and his grandson who were taken from us much too soon by the pandemic. 120 family members and friends gathered to remember their lives and reflect on how much they will be missed.

Tonight’s visit was a decidedly more upbeat occasion as a lovely bride and groom celebrated their wedding with an over-the-top reception on one of Middle Ranch’s luscious, manicured lawns. If you have never arrived early for a “popup” reception, you may not appreciate the back-breaking labor necessary to bring in truckloads of tables, chairs, lighting, bars, etc.

A few hours later it all came together with elegant flower-decorated tables surrounding a dazzling white dance floor which would be well used throughout the evening. But, before dancing to the DJ’s music, we were treated to a delicious catered meal with a choice of a beef or fish entree. Besides the champaign toast, 2 bars were also situated nearby for all that wanted soft drinks, beer, wine or cocktails.

As is often the case during joyous occasions, the time flew by quickly and it was soon time to depart, filled with wonderful lifetime memories. Driving out, I passed the same box trucks who had returned to collect all of the party furnishings and return the lawn to all of its pre-party glory.
